Event Series: Fighting for Joy

Fighting for Joy in Christ

June 7 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 am

Fighting for Joy in Christ

Join us this summer for a new Community Group centered on one life shaping theme: Fighting for Joy in Christ.

Sometimes we hear statements like, “God wants you to be holy, not happy.” But is it really biblical to set these at odds with one another? In 2 Corinthians 1:24, the apostle Paul writes, “We work with you for your joy.” Throughout the Bible, we see that joy in God is not optional or superficial. It is deeply connected to spiritual health, worship, and genuine faith in Jesus Christ.

Knowledge of God’s Word is essential. But if that knowledge is not leading us toward deeper love for Christ, greater delight in Him, and fuller joy in Him, we should stop and ask why. Psalm 16:11 says, “In your presence is fullness of joy,” and Jesus Himself says in John 15:11, “that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.”

This summer, we will walk through a video series led by Pastor John Piper, focusing on what it means to fight for joy in Christ in everyday life. Each week will include coffee and donuts, meaningful fellowship, and Bible centered teaching and discussion designed to help us see how our affections reveal what we truly worship and why lasting joy is only found in Jesus.

This Community Group will meet (room 115) Sundays from 9:00–9:45 AM, June 7 through July 26. Come ready to be encouraged, challenged, and refreshed as we learn to fight for joy in Christ together.

Limited childcare is available (for 3 yrs potty-trained to 4th grade) and must be registered.
