One of the greatest needs in the church today is not simply helping people know more about Jesus, but helping people deepen their daily relationship with Jesus. It is possible to have a great deal of knowledge about God while missing the deeper invitation of Jesus: to walk with Him, become like Him, and live the way He lived.
Spiritual transformation does not begin with simply changing our behavior. It begins with abiding in Christ and growing in our relationship with Him. As we become more deeply connected to Jesus, our desires, priorities, and actions begin to change.
Disciple: The Way of Jesus is a six-week message series designed to help us move beyond simply knowing about Jesus to actually following Jesus. A disciple is not just someone who has head knowledge about Jesus; a disciple is someone who is being transformed by Jesus and learning to live the way of Jesus.
Throughout this series, we will explore the practices, priorities, and rhythms that help us grow as followers of Christ. Our goal is not simply to learn about discipleship, but to take meaningful steps toward becoming disciples who are with Jesus, becoming like Jesus, and doing what Jesus did.
Discipleship was never meant to happen alone.
During the series, participants will have the opportunity to join a Discipleship Group of 4–5 people. Groups will meet twice:
· Once right after the series is launched
· Once at the conclusion of the series
The purpose of these gatherings is to:
1. Discuss what we are learning and how we are applying it
2. Build meaningful relationships with other believers we may not know
Groups will intentionally be formed to create opportunities for:
· Same-gender relationships
· New friendships
· Cross-generational connections

Frequently Asked Questions about Groups
What if I’m already in a D-Group or Life Group? Do I still sign up?
Yes. We encourage it. This is a unique opportunity to build relationships with people outside your existing group and strengthen connections across our church family. We also want people to know they have the freedom to take a break from their D Group or Life Group in order to participate in these two group gatherings. We understand that our schedules are busy and there is only so much we can do.
Can I participate in a group even if I miss a Sunday?
Absolutely. Since groups meet only twice, you are welcome to participate even if you miss one of the Sunday messages. The Discipleship Guide will help you stay connected
If I didn’t join a group in time for the first meeting, can I join one for the last meeting?
If space allows, yes. We will do our best to connect you with a group, but signing up before the deadline will help us create the best experience for everyone.
Will there be childcare?
Childcare will not be provided. We encourage groups to choose meeting times and locations that work well for everyone, and families are welcome to make their own childcare arrangements.
Is there any cost?
No. Participation is free.
Do I have to attend both group meetings?
We encourage everyone to attend both, but if you can only make one, we would still love for you to participate.
Can we choose to keep meeting as a group after the series ends?
Absolutely, we’re glad it was meaningful. If your group wants to keep going, we’d love to help you take that next step by joining a Life Group or even exploring a D Group together. That way you’re not just continuing to meet but moving further along the Discipleship Pathway as a group.
What is expected of a group host?
Hosts are not teachers. Their role is to contact the group, schedule the two gatherings, facilitate the discussion using the provided questions, and help everyone feel welcome and included. At least two questions the host will ask at both gatherings: 1) How are you doing? 2) How is it going when it comes to practicing this week’s spiritual discipline?
