Common Questions
What is SMACTalk?
SMACTalk stands for Supporting Mothers of Adult Children. It’s a monthly gathering designed to encourage and equip moms navigating this unique season of motherhood through biblical teaching, worship, and fellowship.
Who is this for?
SMACTalk is for any mother of adult children — whether your relationship is thriving, strained, or somewhere in between. You don’t have to be in crisis to benefit.
What can I expect at a typical meeting?
We meet on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. Each evening includes a guest speaker, a time of worship, and opportunities for fellowship with other moms.
Will I have to share personal details?
No. Sharing is always optional. You’re welcome to simply listen and receive encouragement.
Is this confidential?
Yes. We encourage a respectful and confidential environment so women feel safe and supported.
Is there a cost?
There is no cost to attend. Occasionally, we will have a special meal or service project that might have a cost, but that is communicated in advance.
Do I need to attend every month?
No. You’re welcome to come as you’re able.
Is this connected to a church?
Yes, SMACTalk is hosted by Grace Church in Allen, but women from the community are warmly welcome whether or not they attend the church.
What if I don't know anyone?
That’s completely okay. Many women come not knowing anyone at first — you’ll be welcomed into a community of moms who understand this season of life.
